What Is Consumer Energy Lead Data?
It's a list of people and businesses who pay an electric or gas bill. Not people who work in energy. Here's what's in a lead and how sales teams use it.

The short version
When we say consumer energy lead data, we mean utility customers. Households and small businesses that pay an electric bill, a gas bill, or both.
We get asked about this a lot, so to be clear: it's not a list of people who work at energy companies. It's the customers those companies want to talk to.
Our clients are mostly retail energy suppliers, brokers and sales agencies. They call or knock on doors to offer a different electricity or gas plan, usually in states where people get to pick their supplier.
What's actually in a lead
A typical record from us has:
- First and last name
- Service address, city, state and ZIP
- Phone number
- The utility (PECO, ComEd, AEP Ohio and so on)
- Commodity, meaning electric, gas or both
- Account number and email, when we have them
- Language (English or Spanish), when we have it
Why we care so much about the utility
Most energy teams can only sell in certain utility territories. If a lead sits outside yours, it's a wasted call or a wasted walk up someone's driveway.
So every lead we have is tagged with its state and utility. You only order the territories you actually sell in.
Not just residential
Most of what we sell is residential. We also have commercial leads (small businesses), and solar and internet leads for teams that sell those.

There's a free sample file on our Services page with the same columns you'd get, just with made-up names. If it looks right, tell us your states, utilities and lead types and we'll set up your portal.
