How to Keep Energy Lead Lists Clean: DNC, Suppression and Duplicates

Dead numbers, repeat leads and people who already said no eat up your reps' day. A short checklist to avoid all three.

Bad data costs you twice

Every disconnected number, duplicate or opted-out customer burns a rep's time. Some of them also put you at compliance risk. A cleaner list just means more real conversations every hour.

Check these before anyone dials

Whoever you buy from, make sure:

  • Do Not Call numbers are out, including ones flagged after the lead was first collected
  • Your own suppression list is out (current customers, past opt-outs)
  • Duplicate phone numbers are gone
  • You're not being sent leads you already paid for
  • State, ZIP and utility actually match each other

What we do on our side

Numbers on our Do Not Call list come out of every order, even if they were added to the list after we got the lead. Your suppression list comes out too. We remove duplicates and keep a record of every lead we've sent you, so you won't get the same one twice.

New data gets cleaned when it comes in. We throw out bad phone numbers and obviously fake names, and fill in missing cities, ZIPs and utilities where we can.

What's on you

You're responsible for following the TCPA and your state's telemarketing rules, including any registry checks your calling program needs. Keep your suppression list current and upload it to your portal. We'll take it out of every order from then on.
